When Tennessee car accidents occur, serious injury can result

While anyone who uses Tennessee roadways on a daily basis can be at risk for injury, scooter and motorcycle drivers are particularly vulnerable. The force caused by a car's impact can be enough to throw a scooter driver from his or her vehicle, resulting in serious injury or death. Car accidents like these are far too common.

In late July, a driver was injured on a scooter when he was struck by a car. The accident occurred at a local intersection in Murfreesboro. The victim of the collision was transported to a nearby medical center and treated for serious injuries.

The crash is currently under investigation because of the severity of the victim's injuries in conjunction with the fact that the suspect appeared to have been intoxicated at the time of the crash. The driver of the vehicle at fault was charged with DUI, vehicular assault and driving with a suspended license. Supposedly, the latter was because the suspect failed to present proof of insurance during a past incident with police.

When Tennessee car accidents result in injury, the victim will be entitled to file a personal injury claim against the other driver. If a claim is successful, it may result in monetary benefits that could help the victim recover both physically and emotionally from the incident. Accidents that cause serious injury can be extremely upsetting to victims and their families, and certain legal benefits could help offset some of their suffering and help them return to their normal lives as quickly as possible.
